Interesting question. The answer is that yes, I am endeavoring to change my life. I want to be healthier in all aspects, but I recognize that my emotional health is paramount.
I want to be happy. I want to be around people whose thoughts and feelings are similar to my own. I want a lot of things that I am only now realizing cannot be purchased or enticed with money.
If I am happy, then I will attract happy people to love me and allow me to love in return.
My dad had my cat Snickers put down this morning. It was time, but I'm going to miss him.

Finished this a few days ago. It's basically the same story, only with a zombie expansion pack. Grahame pretty much just replaces certain quirks about the characters with over-the-top zombie and ninja references. I think you have to be an existing Austen fan to really appreciate the absurdity and what he's trying to do with the story. Pretty funny, a little too forced.

I'm only a little ways into it, but I really like it so far. It's simple and straight-forward in style and heartbreaking in substance. It's very raw and very real, which I appreciate after reading Austen (Zombie Plus edition) and various biographies of dead English people. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, though, since so many people that I know didn't seem to like it very much.
Listening to:

"Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea" by Chelsea Handler. HILARIOUS. Everyone should listen to, not read, this book. It's ridiculously funny.
What I'm reading: Finishing up "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". It's funny, but it tries a little too hard at times.
What's next: "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. I don't think Alicia liked this very much, but the trailer for the Peter Jackson movie looks CHOICE, so I want to get through it and see if it's decent.
What I want to read: "Night" by Eli Weisel. From what I've heard, the best Holocaust memoir ever written. Very depressing, I'm sure, but also profound.
What I don't want to read but I will because I have to: "Henry VIII: The King and his Court" by Alison Weir. Grad school is creeping up on me, so no explanation needed.

First of all, Edward Cullen is a douche. The fact that he's an unintentional douche and a one-dimensional character created by an author who does NOT get the concept of "show, don't tell" makes the whole thing worse.
Ok, so here's my thing with vampires. When done right, the vampire allegory can be stunning. It allows the writer to explore things about human nature that otherwise might seem trite and overly and awkwardly metaphysical. The vampire, as it were, acts as a conduit for many different layers of people. Nobody did this better than Bram Stoker. Dracula is depicted as being a bit of a man-child with no boundaries, which echoes perfectly within the spectrum of good and evil. The fact that he's revealed at a slow-burn and mostly through shadowy interactions is, perhaps, the loveliest thing about the book.
Stoker set the standard and with a few notable exceptions (i.e., the allegorical "Buffy" and the satirical "True Blood"), the vampire experience in all mediums has fallen rather spectacularly short of what it could have been.
The market for vampires is oversaturated and needs time to recover. Maybe we should step back and look at other, less contrived supernatural frameworks?

One week without a cell phone and counting. FML.
I'm writing an essay regarding the villification of young, high-profile women who have openly expressed their own varying degrees of personal sexuality. Specifically, I want to address the sexual commodification of someone like Megan Fox; where did it start, what was the trigger, and, most importantly, the ways in which this is affecting young women in America. Some of the issues I want to cover:
-What the Megan Fox Syndrome is, according to me, and the context for it.
- The growing sexual divide among women between the ages of 18-25
-Hollywood and corporate America's involvement and dissemination of unhealthy sexual perception.
Hopefully, this will be churned out in the next day or so.
For reference, see the cringe-worthy video below.

Congratulations to Alicia on the new baby! I've got a new little girl to fuss over, yay. If things keep progressing the way they are, I'll have a new neice as well within the next couple of days. Little Ava should be joining Sophie soon, although I hope she comes during the weekend.
Hmmm...I'm overdrawn at the bank, woe. This dog has totally eaten up all of my money, between vet visits and supplies...ugh. She worth it, though, I just wish she wasn't so expensive. Lola is the cutest thing ever, so I'll try to post pics as soon as I can.
Not much else is going on, so I'll try to post with updates as they come.

Ugh. School has taken over my life and I no longer keep in contact with the world. So...let's break it down.
I'm running out of money again, which is not cool. I was very prosperous in February, so that means I'll be broke for the next six months. It doesn't help that I'm ADDICTED to Lush, either. I'm planning on blowing some more on it come Saturday; I think I need an intervention.
The great thing in my life right now is my weight loss. I've lost about 9 lbs in the past month and I feel better than ever. Hooray for ditching fast food and junk! Pilates and yoga to supplement, and I'm good.
Shit. I have class in 7 hours so I should probably hit the hay. G'night!

I am so incredibly drunk right now. Diet? Pssh.
I cannot stop buying stuff from LUSH, woe. I have some extra money, but E-bay and lush.com are irresistable.
Also? BPAL is stealing my soul.
